Fan Content Policy

At Wooster Games we love our Animal Company fans and are truly inspired and honored by the content that you create and the engagement of our community.

This Fan Content Policy is meant to help answer some common questions about using Animal Company intellectual property (the “Game IP”) in fan content. We hope you understand that these guidelines are meant to protect our properties so we can keep making wild and wonderful things for you all to enjoy.

Fan Content Permission

Wooster Games permits you to create content and/or mods based upon the Game IP (“Fan Content”) for your non-commercial use, provided that you strictly adhere to the Rules for Use below, and provided that we reserve the right to revoke this permission at any time for any reason (or no reason).

Rules for Use

1. Affix this Notice to all Fan Content. You must affix the following notice conspicuously to all Fan Content that you create:
   1. “This is unofficial Animal Company Fan Content created under the Animal Company Fan Content Policy. It includes materials which are the property of Wooster Games It has not been reviewed by, and is neither approved nor endorsed by, Wooster Games”
2. Don’t Be Misleading. You may not state, suggest, imply, or do that could mislead people to think, that your Fan Content is official, endorsed, sponsored, or approved by Wooster Games or any of our affiliates.
3. Make your Fan Content available for Free. We encourage you to create and share Fan Content - but if you do so, it must be free.
   1. “Free” means you don’t sell your Fan Content or condition access it on money or consideration of any kind including payment, subscriptions, newsletter signups, surveys, memberships, registrations, or anything similar. It also means you can’t use Fan Content in connection with, or in order to promote paid services, websites, or the like;
   2. “Free” also means that others, including Wooster Games, may freely access, view, share and use your Fan Content without any strings attached (like approvals, licenses, credit, payment, etc.)
   3. You may use Fan Content in connection with a Twitch, YouTube, or other account that is monetized with sponsorships and advertisements so long as such sponsorships or advertisements do not promote anything that is considered competitive or harmful to Wooster Games
4. No NFTs or Crypto: You may not create NFTs (non-fungible tokens) or cryptocurrencies using Game IP or related to Game IP in any way.
5. No Cheats, clones, ports or hacks.
   1. You may not create clones or ports using the Game IP.
   2. You may not create cheats or hacks for Animal Company.
6. Don’t use Game IP in any way that is harmful to us. For example
   1. Do not modify or remove our legal notices or policies from Game IP;
   2. Do not use any of our trademarks or logos in a way that could be confused as indicating your work is official or endorsed by us;
   3. Do not create Fan Content that defames, disparages, or depicts Animal Company or any of Wooster Games, or any of its affiliates, managers, members, officers, employees, contractors or agents, in a negative way.
   4. This is not an exhaustive list.
7. Don’t use Game IP in any way that is harmful to others. For example:
   1. Do not use our Game IP to distribute malicious software or content.
   2. Do not use Game IP in a way that is offensive, racist, sexist, pornographic, obscene, ableist, grotesque, damaging, disparaging, or defamatory.
   3. Do not use Game IP in a way that violates any third-party right, including any privacy, publicity, intellectual property or proprietary right.
   4. Do not create Fan Content that uses someone else’s copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual property.
   5. Do not create Fan Content that promotes drug or alcohol use or any illegal activity.
   6. Do not create Fan Content that is harmful to minors in any way.
   7. This is not an exhaustive list.
8. It should go without saying, but you are solely responsible for following any local, state, regional, or national laws as they pertain to your Fan Content. Wooster Games will not be held liable for any violations or legal fees. We will also not act as legal counsel on your behalf. If you have any questions about your local laws, please seek counsel.
9. We have the right to stop or restrict your use of Game IP at any time, for any reason or no reason.

Please keep in mind

This Fan Content Policy does not, in any way, constitute grant of any proprietary rights or licenses in or to the Game IP.

We reserve the right to stop or restrict the use of Game IP at any time – even if it follows the above Rules for Use – for any or no reason.

We also reserve the right to update this policy and FAQ from time to time.

Commercial Fan Content Licensing

We may be willing to grant licenses to fans to create Fan Content for commercial use (for example to sell in our store). To learn more, please reach out to us at info@animalcompanyvr.com.
